By the end of 1993, after 8 LP's and EP's defining modern drumming with Slayer and
establishing himself as the premier metal drummer on the world stage, Dave Lombardo
founded a new musical entity called Grip Inc. By February of 1994 the line-up was
complete. This line up includes Waldemar Sorychta (Ex-Despair, Ex-Voodoocult, and
noted producer of the recently lauded Voodocult and Tiamet records) Jason Vie Brooks
(Ex-Heathen) on bass and Gus Chambers (formerly of the British punk band Twenty-One Guns)
on vocals and writing lyrics. After 11 months of rehearsals and song-writing, the album
and direction of the group were born. The result of this effort was an aggressive
but rhythmic blend with the hard edge of metal, punk, hard-core and industrial elements.
With such stand out songs as "Hostage to Heaven", "Cleanse the Seed", "Ostracized", "Innate
Affliction", and the soon-to-be-anthem against racism "The Longest Hate", Grip Inc.
are smashing on to the scene with amazing power. Look for the partnership with Metal Blade
in the U.S.A. and SPV in Europe to bring back great, and uncompromising metal to the
scene and fans.
Grip Inc.'s second album, "Nemesis", was recorded in Woodhouse Studios in Germany and shows the bands' growth and
constantly developing musical style. Song titles include "Pathetic Liar", "War between One",
"Scream at the Sky", "The Summoning" and the first video from the album, "Rusty Nail".
